Tim joined the Amphi Foundation as its Executive Director in 2022. A Florida native, has served as a United Methodist pastor in the Baltimore area and at Interfaith Community Services as the Director of Outreach and Partnerships and Interim CEO in Tucson. His wife, Laurel, works as the Infection Prevention Director at Northwest Medical Center. They live in the Amphi School District where their son, Steven, attends preschool.
Glenda Arffa is a former teacher, a current Amphi Administrator, a 23 year long Amphi district employee and a mom of two Amphi schools graduates. For years, this district has been a major part of who she is, and who her children have grown to be. Joining the Amphi Foundation as a board member is an honor, and an opportunity for her to give back to this district and support students and families the way that she has been supported over the years.
Tara Barrera is the Program Coordinator in the Community Investment and Philanthropy Division of Tucson Electric Power and UniSource Energy Solutions. In her capacity, she collaborates with nonprofits to support community engagement and volunteerism. Tara comes from a family of Amphi Alumni, including her parents, who graduated from Canyon Del Oro, her grandmother and aunt retired from the district as well as her grandfather was a principal at Nash and Keeling Elementary Schools and a science teacher at Holloway Elementary School. Tara has two children who currently attend Innovation Academy, and she served on the Innovation Academy PTO for three years before transitioning to the Amphi Foundation Board of Directors.
Josh grew up in Oregon. Eventually he and his wife, Majesta, made their way to Tucson in 2012. He is a Senior Project Manager for a local general contractor and has worked on many construction projects for the Amphitheater School District. He has 2 young children that both attend Amphi’s Innovation Academy. Josh is proud to be part of this incredible foundation that provides significant and meaningful support the Amphitheater School District.
Dr. Jennifer Blanco Thomas is a pediatric audiologist at Banner UMC. Her two children are Amphi students. Jennifer also produces and hosts a children’s improv comedy show and volunteers doing hearing testing & hearing aid fitting in Mexico as part of the Ayúdame a Escuchar rotary program in Guaymas, Sonora.
Todd’s passion is to help underserved youth gain an education and reach their full potential. He is currently serving as the Director of Finance, Operations and HR for Youth On Their Own. He also spent over 20 years as the CFO for a highly preforming alternative high school here in Tucson.
Tassi Call started her Amphi journey over 41 years ago as a student. She began her teaching career at Prince Elementary. She loved being a teacher but wanted to serve more children and families, so she embarked on her administrative career. Working as an administrator at Coronado K-8, Prince Elementary, Keeling Elementary and Amphi Middle School before moving to Wetmore Center. Tassi and her husband Ryan have three children that also attended Amphitheater Public Schools. She serves on the Amphi Foundation Board because she truly believe in the equity the foundation provides to all students in Amphi.
As part of the Amphi Community for almost 20 years, Leann started serving her community through the parent organizations at her children's schools, Prince Elementary, Walker Elementary, Cross Middle School and Canyon Del Oro High School. Along with serving on parent organizations, she also worked part time with in the Amphi School District as a campus monitor, tech specialist, special education teacher assistant and bookstore clerk. Leann continues to serve her Amphi Community through the Amphi Foundation.
Monique Conway (she/her) works for the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. She has a passion for nonprofit work and believes that creating kinder communities begins in our schools. She has a son who is on the spectrum and will be attending school in the Amphitheater School District.
Lisa is a teacher at Canyon del Oro High School. She and her husband have three children that have graduated from or are still part of the Amphitheater Public School system. She enjoys being involved in the Amphi community and seeing the impact the Amphi Foundation has on students, staff, and families.
Megan George has been a proud member of the Amphi community for six years. She has two Amphi students at Harelson Elementary and Cross Middle School, and her husband is an Amphi Alumni. Megan began serving the Amphi community in 2018 through the PTO at Harelson Elementary. She served as PTO President for four years and is now the PTO Treasurer. Megan became involved with the Amphi Foundation in 2019 assisting with Gala planning and the Virtual Day of Giving. Megan is passionate about the work of the Amphi Foundation and is excited to support this organization as a Board Member.
Todd is the Superintendent of Amphitheater Public Schools.
Dianna moved to Tucson in July 1999 from her hometown of Irving, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education. Dianna served as a teacher and assistant principal for 20 years with the Irving ISD. Coming to Tucson, she was named principal of Rio Vista in the Amphitheater School District where she received awards as RODEL Principal Finalist and Arizona Association of Gifted and Talented Administrator of the Year. After serving for 23 years, she retired in 2022. She is excited to continue her work with the Amphi Community as part of the Amphi Foundation.
Justin Lukasewicz is the CEO for Greater Tucson Leadership and advocates for growing strengths-based leadership in the Tucson community. He owns Tucson Improv Movement, an improv comedy theater on Fourth Avenue. He holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Misericordia University and Master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of Arizona.
Michael is from Tempe, Arizona. In 1991 he to move to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona. He graduated from the U of A with a degree in Early Childhood Education. For 11 years, Michael taught Kindergarten at Nash Elementary School. In 2004 he earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from NAU. Michael spent 5 years as the principal at Lulu Walker and is currently in his 6th year as principal at Innovation Academy. Michael’s why is service to others and that brings him great joy.
Megan Page is the Pima County Public Defender. She has three sons, two of whom are Amphi students.
Elizabeth Slater (she/her) is a youth advocate. She currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer for Youth On Their Own, a nonprofit organization that supports the high school graduation and continued success of teens experiencing homelessness.
Jeremy Spruce is a program manager at Raytheon. He is a strong supporter of the Amphi community and has served on the Innovation Academy PTO for the past five years. He has two Amphi students and his wife is an Amphi Alumni. Jeremy served for 10 years in the Army and has an Electrical Engineering degree from West Point, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State, and an MBA from the University of Arizona.
Carol has been part of the Amphi Community since 1993. She attended La Cima Middle School and is a proud graduate of Amphi High School. After attending the University of Arizona, she started her education career in the Amphi School District. She has had the privilege of working at Painted Sky, Walker, La Cima, Harelson, Mesa Verde, and District Office as a teacher and administrator. Carol holds the National Board Teaching Certification and received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Arizona. Carol has volunteered with the Amphi Foundation since 2002, is a past board member, and rejoined the board in 2024.
Julie is director of public relations and marketing services for ROX Media. She is an alumna of Lulu Walker Elementary, Cross Middle and Canyon Del Oro High School. Her family is now in the third generation of Amphitheater attendance; her mother graduated from Amphitheater High School and her daughter currently attends Cross Middle School.
Julie believes strongly in the mission of the Amphi Foundation and knows that the future of our community depends on the success of our students and schools today. As a previous school employee, she’s seen the profound impact of the Amphi Foundation's support. Julie has two children who attend Amphi schools and one who graduated in 2024.
