Megan George

Executive Director

Megan George has been a proud member of the Amphi community for many years. She has two Amphi students at Harelson Elementary and Cross Middle School, and her husband is an Amphi Alumni. Megan began serving the Amphi community in 2018 through the PTO at Harelson Elementary. She later became involved with the Amphi Foundation in 2019 as our Gala chair and lead of the Virtual Day of Giving. Megan is passionate about the work of the Amphi Foundation and is excited to support this organization as the Executive Director.

Julie Charters

Community Impact Director

Julie believes strongly in the mission of the Amphi Foundation and knows that the future of our community depends on the success of our students and schools today. As a previous school employee, she’s seen the profound impact of the Amphi Foundation's support. Julie has two children who attend Amphi schools and one who graduated in 2024.

Tara Barrera

Board Chair-Elect

Tara Barrera serves in the Government Relations and Public Affairs division at Tucson Electric Power and UniSource Energy Solutions. In her role, she leads the Wildfire public safety outreach and fosters engagement with local and state government stakeholders. A proud member of an Amphi alumni family, Tara currently has two children attending Cross Middle School. She brings over 20 years of experience in event management, marketing, and community engagement. Passionate about equitable access to education and values-based governance, Tara is dedicated to creating meaningful impact in her community through collaborative leadership and service.

Josh Bassett

Board Member

Josh grew up in Oregon. Eventually he and his wife, Majesta, made their way to Tucson in 2012. He is a Senior Project Manager for a local general contractor and has worked on many construction projects for the Amphitheater School District. He has 2 young children that both attend Amphi’s Innovation Academy. Josh is proud to be part of this incredible foundation that provides significant and meaningful support the Amphitheater School District.

Tassi Call

Board Member, Ex-Officio

Tassi Call started her Amphi journey over 41 years ago as a student. She began her teaching career at Prince Elementary. She loved being a teacher but wanted to serve more children and families, so she embarked on her administrative career. Working as an administrator at Coronado K-8, Prince Elementary, Keeling Elementary and Amphi Middle School before moving to Wetmore Center. Tassi and her husband Ryan have three children that also attended Amphitheater Public Schools. She serves on the Amphi Foundation Board because she truly believe in the equity the foundation provides to all students in Amphi.

Jill Christman

Board Member

Jill Christman has been a teacher Canyon del Oro High School for 25 years, where she teaches Honors, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate Chemistry. She has lived in Tucson since 1986, when she moved from Colorado to attend the University of Arizona, where she earned her bachelor's degree in chemistry. In 2019, she was awarded Arizona Science Teacher of the Year, in 2021 was a state finalist for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) and in 2025 was awarded PAEMST at the National Level. Jill has two daughters who both attended Amphi Schools since first grade and graduated from CDO. She is looking forward to working with the Amphi community beyond the classroom.

Monique Conway

Board Member

Monique Conway (she/her) works for the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona. She has a passion for nonprofit work and believes that creating kinder communities begins in our schools. She has a son who is on the spectrum and will be attending school in the Amphitheater School District.

Samantha De Dios-Goodwin

Board Member

J. Samantha de Dios-Goodwin, or Sam, has lived in Tucson since 1999 when she started at the U of A. She graduated with a Bachelor’s in Science in Psych with a minor in chemistry and proceeded to get her Master’s in Public Health. She decided Tucson was a great place to raise her family because of the sense of community she felt. In 2004, she had her first child and also started her career in Real Estate. Both of her children were students of Canyon Del Oro High School and she is so grateful for the experiences they had while at that school. She volunteered at the clothing bank and for shoes to smiles and really came to appreciate everything that the foundation provides for the families, students and staff/ faculty of the district. She decided to take her volunteerism one step above and joined the board in 2023.

Todd Jaeger

Board Member, Ex-Officio

Todd is the Superintendent of Amphitheater Public Schools.

Dianna Kuhn

Board Member

Dianna moved to Tucson in July 1999 from her hometown of Irving, Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in education. Dianna served as a teacher and assistant principal for 20 years with the Irving ISD. Coming to Tucson, she was named principal of Rio Vista in the Amphitheater School District where she received awards as RODEL Principal Finalist and Arizona Association of Gifted and Talented Administrator of the Year. After serving for 23 years, she retired in 2022. She is excited to continue her work with the Amphi Community as part of the Amphi Foundation.

Justin Lukasewicz

Board Member

Justin Lukasewicz is the CEO for Greater Tucson Leadership and advocates for growing strengths-based leadership in the Tucson community. He owns Tucson Improv Movement, an improv comedy theater on Fourth Avenue. He holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Misericordia University and Master’s degree in Higher Education from the University of Arizona.

Michael McConnell

Board Chair

Michael is from Tempe, Arizona. In 1991 he to move to Tucson to attend the University of Arizona. He graduated from the U of A with a degree in Early Childhood Education. For 11 years, Michael taught Kindergarten at Nash Elementary School. In 2004 he earned a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from NAU. Michael spent 5 years as the principal at Lulu Walker and is currently in his 6th year as principal at Innovation Academy. Michael’s why is service to others and that brings him great joy.

Megan Page

Board Member

Megan Page is a Pima County Public Defender. She has three sons, all of whom are Amphi students.

Jeremy Spruce

Board Secretary

Jeremy Spruce is a program manager at Raytheon. He is a strong supporter of the Amphi community and has served on the Innovation Academy PTO for the past five years. He has two Amphi students and his wife is an Amphi Alumni. Jeremy served for 10 years in the Army and has an Electrical Engineering degree from West Point, a Master’s in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State, and an MBA from the University of Arizona.

Carol Tracy Kitchen

Board Member

Carol has been part of the Amphi Community since 1993. She attended La Cima Middle School and is a proud graduate of Amphi High School. After attending the University of Arizona, she started her education career in the Amphi School District. She has had the privilege of working at Painted Sky, Walker, La Cima, Harelson, Mesa Verde, and District Office as a teacher and administrator. Carol holds the National Board Teaching Certification and received her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Arizona. Carol has volunteered with the Amphi Foundation since 2002, is a past board member, and rejoined the board in 2024.

Frank Vidal

Board Member

Frank Vidal (he/him) is a husband to an amazing wife, father to a beautiful daughter, and personal assistant to four demanding cats. During the day, he's the Development Manager at Tohono Chul Park and an Ambassador for the Oro Valley Chamber. By night, he's the founder of Tucson Thrive and an organizer for HR Fuse. Frank attended Wilson Elementary and Ironwood Ridge High School, and he's passionate about making sure Amphi students feel supported throughout their journeys.

Angela Wichers

Board Member

Angela has worked in education for over 30 years, starting as a classroom teacher in grades 3–5. Since 2007, she's been a school administrator, first at Painted Sky Elementary and now as the proud principal of Amphitheater Middle School. Angela was born in Silver City, New Mexico, and earned her degree from the University of New Mexico. Her family moved to Tucson in 2002, and her two children have grown up here.
